A Grand Affair

We consulted A Grand Affair Events to help us plan our destination wedding in the British West Indies. Planning an island wedding from the states can be stressful. Beverly helped us develop an overall event style and provided assistance with selecting the band and music, writing and designing the program, selecting the menus, decorations, flowers and more. We had a lot of ideas and she helped us get them organized. She also helped us plan a "welcome to the island" party for guests at our villa. It was a fabulous week and we are so happy we had someone to help us pull it all together.

It was an absolute delight to work with Beverly Wakefield of A Grand Affair in Charlottesville for our wedding day! Though we hired Beverly as our day-of coordinator only, she met with me and my mom multiple times prior to the event--even driving outside of town to meet at our reception site. Having planned many weddings (including her own), Beverly has incredible vision and attention to detail. She executed every detail of our reception flawlessly (and there were a lot!) and had some incredible suggestions along the way as well. My husband and I took her advice on our entrance into our dinner/dancing tent from cocktail hour, and this will always be one of our favorite memories from our wedding day. We credit Beverly completely with making our wedding vision a reality, and we will be forever grateful.

Beverly and her team were amazing to work with and absolutely crucial on my wedding day – I can’t emphasize enough how much she added to the overall success of the day. Her experience really showed in her professionalism and her capability to deal with all vendors, family members and guests in an appropriate, stress-free manner. Beverly coordinated everything for me and my husband on our wedding day, leaving us with zero worries and no glitches. She arrived at the reception venue well in advance to supervise, coordinate, and assist in the set up. She then moved on to the church to greet and instruct our ushers; coordinate the musicians, décor, and transportation; and patiently answer any guest’s question before our ceremony. During the reception, she seamlessly took care of all hiccups and coordinated our band, caterers, transportation, and favors. In the midst of it all she even provided beautiful decorations to our candy bar (which was above and beyond our expectations) and getaway ride. Beverly was professional and poised and respectful to all the vendors. With Beverly in charge, you (and everyone else) will enjoy your wedding day (or any special event) so much more. I highly recommend using A Grand Affair.
