Maya Couture

My experience at Maya Couture, was beyond amazing. I was unfortunate to have no one come with me to my bridal appointment, but Meghan made me feel like I wasn't alone. She stepped up and was my mom, maid of honor, and bridesmaids. I couldn't have asked for a better consultant. She was NOT offended when I was honest with her about what I didn't like, in fact she encouraged my honesty. All she cared about for my 2 hours was me and finding me the perfect dress.

I'd shopped unsuccessfully at two other stores before arriving at Maya, where I had a much better experience. Misty had already pulled some dresses she thought I might be interested in, and she brought back more once we saw what worked and what didn't. The store's selection was impressive (and less expensive than other places'), and I appreciate that they make sure to stock a decent number of dresses with straps. Misty was so fun to work with -- finally, an enjoyable dress shopping experience! She also had a really good idea for altering the train that worked out great. I got so many compliments on my dress at the wedding.

I went to three different bridal shops looking for my wedding dress and Maya Couture has the largest variety of dresses and they seemed to know the styles that I was looking for. Their tailor was great as well - I'm only 5'3" so I was so excited to have the dress fit like a glove. I tried on approximately 30-40 dresses in two days and Maya Couture provided the best service and selection by far - I highly recommend them to any bride searching for their dress!

At first I had a greta experience with Maya Couture - then when I ordered my dress things changed. I got a call saying my dress was in only 2 months after I ordered it- it wasn't my dress. Then when it came in they had ordered 2 sizes to large (luckily I went in before they suggested for a trail fitting in November) and had to have it rushed to be ready for my wedding. It arrived at the end of February and they did get my in right away for alterations. Alterations only cost me 30 dollars (adding the bustle and my sash). It can be very troubling to get an appointment, I know my sister has been dealing with them and she lives out of town. My advice plan your trip FAR in advance and call them ASAP as their Saturdays and Sundays fill up very quickly! Misty was great!

As many brides experience, although I would have liked to have had more time, I found myself planning my wedding in a few short months and wasn’t sure if I would be able to realize my dream in such a short amount of time. Maya Couture was indeed “one-stop-shopping” for the entire wedding party. Maya herself stepped up and saw to all of my needs with unwavering attention to detail. Her expertise, flawless taste and sense for a my style preference were impressive, invaluable and contributed to a stress free experience. Despite my anxiety and fear of not finding something in a short amount of time, I was completely set at ease within minutes of my first appointment. Several beautiful gowns were available for me off the rack and Maya and her staff even customized my gown and completed alterations impeccably with plenty of time to spare. I felt like I was their number one priority. The customer service was unsurpassed and despite the challenges of a short timeline my every need was seen to. I would reccomend Maya Couture to any bride who is looking for the entire experience.

Maya Couture helped me find the wedding dress I really wanted. They had the dress placed on hold for me till I could afford it and it came quicker than anticipated. I wore a strapless Perri Marie by Maggie Sottero and had a sweetheart neckline put in to give me some shape. Alterations were easy and a breeze, the dress ended up fitting me perfectly and they worked well around my schedule. My only complaint is the bustle did not hold at my reception. For the inconvenience, Maya was very responsive and preserved my gown for free. Overall, they offer a great environment to find your dress in and I would recommend them.

There was only one dress I wanted to try on. I was in town (I live about 2 hrs away) and called them about 30minutes before arriving at the store. They said that they had the dress I was looking for. When I got there, they had the dress pulled and waiting in a dressing room for me. Deanna made me feel special, even on such short notice, and the owner Maya even came in to do some of the measurements. The dress came in almost a whole year before my wedding and they were able to keep the dress in the store until it was time for alterations. The dress was cut to all of my measurements, which made alterations a cinch, but I did need a few things done, and the ladies in alterations did a fantastic job. Everyone was always excited and made me feel like a bride at every step. They were great.

I got my wedding dress from this bridal shop. I love my dress. But when I went to pick it up after my final fitting, and after paying to have it cleaned and pressed I found a stain on it and there were wrinkles all over, which was a little disappointing. However, the staff was helpful and fixed everything.

Although I only purchased my veil from Maya Couture, all employees were so friendly and helpful. I had seen the veil that I really liked and Maya quickly found the designer and ordered the veil for me all over the phone since I live in a different state. They showed a great interest in me even though I was only purchasing my veil.

My dress is amazing. I still look at this dress. The ladies at Maya were so wonderful to me. They didn't pressure me, they told me the truth, they brought in other consultants to give their opinion. They are wonderful, sweet, helpful, genuine people. The selection is huge, they carry all styles, so you really can find a dress to suit your taste. They made me a hairpiece to match the bottom of my dress, how cool is that?!?! I live in Northern Virginia and I can, hands down, tell you that you can't beat this shop. Best selection, nicest staff, awesome owner, just good stuff all around.

I found my dress online and they were the store that had it. For the Virgnia Beach area there are not many choices so you can tell there is not much competition based on their customer service. If you have an appointment you may or may not have to wait. I can't say that going to try on dresses there is every girls fairytale. It is more the get in get out type of place. If I could do it all over I would find my dress somewhere else. But, if you don’t have a choice they are fine.

We got our tuxes through Maya and really were impressed with their customer service. Very helpful and the guys said it was easy to get their measurements in and pick up their tuxes. All of them fit well and looked great and we loved the discount they gave us for having more than 5 guys.

Maya and her staff were simply the most professional people! Her dress selection was very diverse and I enjoyed the experience! They went the extra mile to ensure we were taken care of even through a last minute bridesmaid glitch that they handled with ease!! Maya is a very sweet, professional and talented lady and I would definitely recommend her to others!

I am happy with the service I recieved at Maya Couture. Their selection is far better than those of it's competitors. I actually found my dress on the first visit and had "the moment" which I thought was only on tv. I defintely would recommend their selection to others.

Maya Couture is fantastic, it's like the one stop shop! We got my earrings, my garter, and my custom veil as well as my mom's necklace from Maya. They were super friendly every time we walked in the door and met all of our needs. The alterations department is fantastic and made my dress fit perfectly. Everyone complimented me on my dress all night at the wedding and I am so happy I made the purchase at Maya.

Although they were helpful with my dress purchase, there seemed to be a disconnect with alterations. All in all it was an okay experience.

They finished working on the dress in time for my bridal portraits and the wedding. Everyone was great!

I already had a dress picked out, but choose Maya because the bridesmaids dresses I liked could be ordered here. What a catastrophe! Granted- picking bridesmaids dresses was reserved for the last 6 months of our two year engagement. I felt like if we weren't lucky enough to have a long engagement my bridesmaids would not have had their dresses. Half of my bridal party purchased their dress at the store. The bridesmakds that ordered elsewhere recieved their dresses before Maya.The shipping took forever and because the entire group did not order at once shipping was delayed to two weeks before my wedding. The rush fees for each dress accumulated, and I took all my bridesmaids to local tailors for their alterations. The young lady that helped us was lovely, but she wasnt very efficient at measuring the girls. The measurements from the tailors are the numbers we used to order the appropriate sizes. They have great communication skills. They text message and emailed us when the dresses arrived. The dresses came in time for the wedding but it was more of a hassle than any other part of my wedding. I loved their dresses and Maya had a great selection. I just wish the process had been easier. Also, smaller budget weddings make sure you set a budget with your consultant, because it can significantly alter dress selections.
